Fairy Godmother Postpartum Visits

Because every mother deserves a Fairy Godmother in her corner!

The Support You Wished For… But Didn’t Know You Could Ask For

The early weeks and months after birth are tender, messy, beautiful, and overwhelming all at once. You’re adjusting to a whole new world — feeding, settling, sleep (or lack of it), recovery, emotions, and the endless to-do’s.

What most mothers say they need in this season isn’t another Google search or a checklist of advice. What they really need is someone to step in with kindness, calm, and practical support — the way a Fairy Godmother would.

That’s exactly why we created Fairy Godmother Visits at Maia Mothers.

What is a Fairy Godmother Visit?

Fairy Godmother Visits are a non-clinical, in-home support service for new mothers.

Prue, our beloved mothers’ group facilitator, comes into your home to nurture and hold you during postpartum. Her visits are not about “fixing” you, they’re about supporting you to feel safe, seen, and cared for as you navigate early motherhood.

Meet Prue - Your Fairy Godmother

Prue has spent her life guiding and nurturing others — first as a teacher, then as a Reiki Master, and now as a much-loved Mothers’ Group Facilitator at Maia Mothers. She’s also a proud mum to two boys — Bodhi (8) and Alfie (4) — and brings that lived experience of motherhood into every visit.

She is known for her warmth, calm presence, and ability to help mothers feel safe and supported. Whether she’s holding your baby so you can rest, listening without judgement, or offering gentle grounding practices, Prue embodies the true spirit of a Fairy Godmother: someone who makes you exhale the moment she walks in.

What Does Each Visit Include?

Every visit is tailored to your needs, but may include:

✨ Holding your baby so you can rest, shower, or eat.
✨ Deep listening and emotional support (with no judgement).
✨ Gentle Reiki-infused energy holding to calm your nervous system.
✨ Guided practices to soothe body and mind.
✨ Or simply being with you so you don’t feel alone.

✨ A little extra care — Prue will bring healing tea and some homemade baking to nurture you from the inside out.

Who This Is For?

  • A new mum in the weeks or months after birth - up to 6 months post birth, not just the first 6 weeks!

  • Longing for gentle, non-judgemental presence and support.

  • No — Fairy Godmother visits are non-clinical support. They’re designed to nurture and hold you in the day-to-day realities of early motherhood. If you require clinical care (for example, with nutrition, naturopathy, lactation or medical support), we can connect you with the Maia Mothers clinical team.

  • Prue adapts to what you need most on the day. This may include: holding your baby while you rest or shower, preparing a snack, supporting feeding rhythms, offering Reiki-infused calming practices, or simply listening without judgement. Each visit is tailored to you.

  • You can book as soon as you’re ready — whether that’s in the first week after birth or months down the track. Fairy Godmother visits are there for any stage of postpartum where you need extra support.

  • Not at all. Whether this is your first baby or your fourth, every mother deserves a Fairy Godmother. Many mums with older children book visits for extra support while balancing newborn life with siblings.

  • Prue can offer emotional support and practical guidance around feeding rhythms, but she does not provide clinical advice. If you need medical or clinical support, we’ll happily refer you to one of our trusted lactation consultants, GPs, or practitioners.

    • Within 5km of Alderley, Brisbane – no travel fee.

    • Between 6–10km of Alderley – $20 travel fee applies.

    • Outside of 10km – please get in touch to discuss options.

  • Yes, absolutely. If you’d like to connect with Prue before your first visit, we can arrange a short phone chat so you feel comfortable and can ask any questions. Sometimes just hearing her voice and getting a sense of her warmth makes all the difference in deciding what feels right for you.

  • That’s completely normal. Most mums don’t know exactly what they’ll want until the day arrives. Prue is experienced at reading the room, gently asking what feels most supportive, and adapting as your needs change.
